Ha! Hope the Venezuelan sailors were ok, as dumb as this is.

Bold move by the cruise ship crew though, if I’m captain and a warship starts shooting at me, I’m doing what they ask.

Also funny in the sense that countries all around the world are trying as hard as they can to not let cruise ships dock, and Venezuela tried to force this one to.

I imagine that's the same issue with the ship. If you fill the ship with munitions damage, the owner might well tell you to keep it. Also, if small canons are anything like regular guns, it'd be hard to fire on the ship in such a way that you can be confident of scaring the crew without sinking the ship. It's just unfortunate for the Venezuelan crew that they were sent to commandeer an ice breaker..

You know, I read that and Venezuela has their own version of events and said the rammed ship didn’t stop to help. Even though they said they did.

I have two thoughts to this. One, if I stop to help you, what’s from stopping you not calling another ship and try to gain control

My wife and I went on one to Bermuda in our late 20's - she had been on a bunch with her family. It was okay but I would have rather had more time on the island. On the way back, though, we hit major weather. 40' seas, the boat was pitching and rolling like crazy. I thought it was GREAT but that was not a popular opinion among other cruise-goers. A few of us were literally body surfing in the pool as it sloshed around before they (obviously) kicked us out and drained the pool. Trays of dishes were heard crashing in the kitchens, one night at dinner empty chairs were falling over. The bars had to fasten bottles to the shelves with saran wrap because they were moving around and occasionally falling. We had drinks on the top level bar and watched waves spray up and over the top of the ship. But uhh, yeah... we haven’t been on another one since lol

Wowzers! I love huge seas, I’m forever looking for new YT videos of boats in crazy water. I also love watching big wave surfing. However, I also have a reoccurring nightmare about being stranded alone in the open ocean...

Not sure how I’d react actually being in them, but I’d probably wig out. My anxiety has been pretty bad the last 4-5 years, which is odd because I was a moron when I was a teenager/young adult.
